From real estate to reaching teammates, we went behind the RAWE with Lehigh Lightning guard Bershard Edwards who looks to lead his team to glory.

Lehigh Senior High and Florida Elite

Height: 6’0

Weight: 180

Hometown: Lehigh Acres, FL

Nick Iwaniec: When did you start playing basketball?

Bershard Edwards: When I was in the second grade.

NI: What are some of your strengths on the basketball court?

BE: Some of my strengths are playing fast, pushing the ball up the court, and elevating and explosiveness.

NI: What are some of your weaknesses on the court or areas you think you could improve?

BE: I can improve on talking and giving tips on the court.

NI: Who do you model your game after?

BE: My brother had a lot to do with the way my game is now. Being able to blow past someone with a quick first step is deadly. I want to be getting out of the fast break like John Wall, but being able to pull up off the dribble like Kyrie Irving.

IW: What do you plan on doing with basketball in the future?

BE: I want to be able to go to college and study business. I’m interested in real estate.

IW: How do you feel about your Lehigh Senior High team?

BE: My high school team is a force in my area and definitely one of the top teams.

Q: What about your AAU team?

BE: Florida Elite was always a highly respected program but being part of them was definitely a great experience. The group of guys we have are great. We all know what we are capable of but when we come together good shots are always passed up for great ones. That’s rare to find, great to watch and fun to play.
